Professional Development

It’s important to us that employees have the support they need to continually learn and develop. Online classes are offered through our eLearning Center and include courses in management, professional development, business applications, graphics and design, and much more. Reimbursement is also provided for staff who wish to enhance their engineering or other job skills through continuing education programs outside the company.

Engineer III
Engineer III is expected to perform on all types of projects. The Engineer III may supervise or may serve as a lead over a small group of employees. An Engineer III is expected to develop small and mid-sized projects from start to finish with little to no oversight from management. The Engineer III reports directly to their Project Managers.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Supports project delivery to the satisfaction of our clients
Measure: Projects are being delivered on time and on budget.

2. Performs projects strategically and aggressively so that projects and tasks are successfully completed in a logical and timely manner
Measure: Always aware of project status – on time, per the client’s requirements, and without cost overruns. Company Working Procedures (WP’s) and policies are being followed.

3. Performs a variety of engineering tasks as required by management and our clients
Measure: Demonstrates a wide-variety of expertise in the engineering concepts, practices, and procedures needed to properly complete all work products

4. Prepares accurate and quality work products
Measure: Ensures that plans, reports, calculations, etc. are following all relevant building codes and project standards

5. Takes ownership of projects
Measure: Responsible for plans, calculations, and specifications that he/she has prepared

6. Provides excellent client service by constantly demonstrating responsiveness and service orientation to our customer’s needs. Always communicates effectively with customers, staff, project team members, and public agencies on all issues.
Measure: Client satisfaction surveys are being returned with at least a ‘Good’ rating on all categories.

7. Work oriented towards results
Measure: Takes ownership of assignment/project results with minimal assistance from project managers. JMC2’s work products are being processed and approved with minimal delays or plan check corrections. Able to handle heavy workloads under tight deadlines.

8. Takes steps in professional development
Measure: Able to take on more complex work with less assistance

9. Progressing towards getting professionally licensed
Measure: Making attempts and taking preparatory classes to pass the professional engineering exam

10. Knows or has the ability to quickly learn how to model projects in 3D.
Measure: Proficient in Civil3D

Skills (min.):

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Civil Engineering preferred)
Experience: 5 years of Civil Engineering
Computer Skills: MS Office, CADD Experience, proficient in Civil3D
Certifications: Engineer In Training
Communication: Strong written and speaking skills (reqd)
